The Museum of the San Fernando Valley serves the needs of the growing and highly mobile urban populations of the greater San Fernando Valley, including the suburban communities of the city of Los Angeles and independent cities of Glendale, Burbank, San Fernando, and Calabasas. At approximately 1.8 million people, if it was a stand-alone city, it would be the fifth largest in the U.S.
